It Started with a Horse is an award-winning short documentary that we created in 2005. The subject of ISWAH is M.T. Liggett. Today, at 79 years old he is one of the most interesting living grassroots artists in America. Our dream is to take turn this short film into a feature length documentary showing the pure mad genius that is M.T. Liggett, and it's important to do it soon!

At 79 M.T. still creates several pieces of his road side art that lines the highways for miles in a small western Kansas town named Mullinville. His giant metal sculptures rotate and move in the wind and are impossible to miss due to the massive quantity, size, colors, and beauty, not to mention the extremely edgy wit and overt political bite. The story lies in the unique look into a traditional, conservative Kansas town that one artist has turned upside down. Life is simple in Mullinville, KS and this is where the fun begins.

To keep costs down and beauty preserved we plan to shoot this project on HD DSLRs. The money raised will rent video and audio equipment, and allow an extremely talented skeleton crew two weeks of filming in Mullinville. Everyone involved in this project is a jack-of-all-trades in the film world and emotionally invested in the project.
