Rare footage of Hurling matches played in the US in the early decades of the last century, showing the 1930 All Ireland Champions Tipperary playing alongside US based teams.
From the 1920's through to the 1950's the GAA brought it's top players to the US to exhibit Gaelic Games.
News coverage of hurling matches led to Hollywood taking an interest in what was considered to be a sport for "Wild Irish Men"... lol
The Hollywood stuff is pretty funny, like:
"Oh oh, take it easy there young fellow, there's nothing to get excited about, huh, it's all in fun... I hope!"

"Incase you haven't heard, Hurling is an old Irish game. A sort of 'Althletic Manslaughter'. The idea is to sock a ball with this pretty club, or bat, or shillelagh... Played for 100s of years, it's a fast He-Man's game of skill and endurance and NO FOOLIN'!"... lol <- From Hollywood's "Hurling" Directed by David Miller.
