This video demonstrates how to practice rudder and cyclic control while the tail of the helicopter is pointed towards you as well as with the side of the helicopter towards you. Try to keep the helicopter in a relatively small area while practicing.

This is part of a video series teaching you how to eventually fly full function 6 channel RC helicopters.

The plan is to start you out on a coaxial helicopter, teach you the basics which are broken up into easy to learn and practice steps. Once these skills are mastered you are ready to move on to a 6 channel helicopter.

  • can you use a 6 channel transmitter to fly a 4 channel heli?

  • @stimulater7 yes if it's a programmable TX.

  • @MikeysRC Yeah thanks i have successfully switched it over to mode 2 with is much better, but having abit of trouble flying my 4ch venom night ranger 2 fixed pitch heli, i'm worried that the ploblem is the brand so i was thinking of selling and getting a 4ch co-axial esky model, but i'm not sure. What do you think? Thanks!

  • @AZAKO80 Yeah I think the venom is more of a toy grade RC heli.

  • Thanks, but how do you switch from Mode 1 to 2?

  • @AZAKO80 It depends on what transmitter you have. If it's a computer programable TX then you just reprogram it. If it's not then you have to open it up and take it apart and move wires for the two "left - right" potentiometers on each stick.

  • @AZAKO80 Sounds like your transmitter is set up in Mode 1 (a very confusing mode). I reccomned using Mode 2.

  • Great vids, but i have a porblem with the control set up on my transmitter. It has bank left and right on the throttle side and the forward reverse and the rotate left. rotate right on the other side where there should be cyclic controls. Thanks!

  • Thanks very much for the series. This really helped me get a sense of where I can improve my skills. One more vote for the next steps (forward flight). As I fly around I'm still not clear the relationship between rudder and moving the cyclic left to make sweet turns. Thanks again!

  • @MikeysRC oh also can you buy new bodies and install them yourself or no because of the lights and stuff ?
