when mike pinder left the group the moody blues lost their heare and sole.this song is awesome on the lp, John needey pinder and thomas to and to his voice
-
Ray had one of the best voices in rock.

OK the singing's not fantastic and The Moody Blues have never, in my opinion, been The Moody Blues since Mike left, but how can someone keep talking throughout a concert? They shouldn't attend such events if all they want to do is chat.

@nobodyhomehere1502 much better in person...
-
you cannot replace Ray. He is a great voice of the world.
-
I love the Moodies but this sounds a touch off.
-
John is a wonderful performer and song writer, but his voice used to be better than this. Perhaps it is the strain from all the touring year after year. Makes you wonder.

@YoungNubb I agree... I'm a Moodies disciple...been to 3 shows...but they miss Ray..... and age is catching up.... they need a long break... get back to the orchestra

the reason this song doesn't sound right is that john can't sing real well- when ray and mike pinder helped with the vocals this was a very strong song- I saw them play it in 1972- and it was a show stopper. now higher and higher and this one a a couple of other standards are greatly dimished because of the vocal quality- and while just can still sing with the best of them- john is very hit or miss and his hi jinks on higher and higher are laughable.

No offense to them, but wow, their ability to do music has gone down a lot in older age. If you hear the original of this song you will know what I mean!
The girl is cute but I still miss Ray.
