Hi gang,
This is a solid resin model kit of every Harryhausen fan's fave Dinosaur...GWANGI.
It was sculpted by the great Joe Laudati, and was built and painted by me.

  • I saw the resin model of Gwangi (from Harryhausen's own mould) at the London Film Museum's Ray Harryhausen Myths & Magic exhibition amongst original film models, resin models and bronzes from all of his films. He really was a great artist and FX innovator.Your model is very good too, I'm sure Ray would like it.

  • @richwicz Thank you. That's just about the nicest thing anyone has said to me!! I actually got to show Ray Harryhausen in person my Talos model kit, sculpted by Joe Laudati, and Ray took it in his hands and told me how wonderful my use of colour was!!!! That's like Buddy Rich saying you're a terrific drummer!!! You are very kind!

  • Seriously cool.

  • @kezadrone Thank you. I have Gwangi proudly displayed on my coffee table in the middle of my living room. I am very proud of it. I also have recently completed the companion piece, the Styracosaur. They go well together!

  • WOW!.. awesome paint job on this Kit.. did you post this on Facebook, as some one posted the same kit and Joe Laudati commented on it??.. an excellent kit!

  • @goldfred66 Hi, and thanks. Yes, as a matter of fact I did, and Joe did comment on it. I visited Joe in New York late last year, and I first saw this sculpt still on his workbench. Joe sculpts the BEST Harryhausen kits available. I'll soon be receiving his Styracosaur from 'Valley of Gwangi'. Can't wait for that. My name is Craig on facebook. Are you a friend of Joe as well?

  • @Kaffyboy You're welcome, Talos is one of my favourite Harryhausen creations too.It must have been great to meet the man himself, without Ray my childhood wouldn't have been the same.I still have fond memories of seeing The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger and Clash of the Titans at the cinema on first release.I'm a bit too young to have seen any of the others at the cinema, but I did manage to see the classic Jason and the Argonauts on the big screen.
