PCC Streetcar 4609 Nov 2009

Beautiful Fall Sunday in Kenosha is the background for PCC Streetcar 4609, the "Pittsburgh Car" Follow along as the streetcar glides along past the harbor, museums, statues and more. Watch for the reflection in the store windows, and ride along as we give chase and pace the car along the route. Kenosha has five ex-Toronto PCC streetcars, a different one is run each day, and this day it is the Pittsburgh car. 4609 is also decorated for the fall season and if you look close you may be able to see the special destination sign "FALL IN LOVE WITH KENOSHA". PCC Trolleys = American Transportation innovation at its BEST. 50-60 years old and still going strong. Can't argue with success. The PCC trolley SAVED urban electric rail transit in North America. All praise to the mighty PCC and the smart, far-sighted, civically-oriented people who made it possible!

That Pittsburgh trolley car is beautiful. That paint scheme kind of reminds me of the 1950's airliner colors, especially around the standee windows.
