I rip them from the main track and the instrumental track (essentially subtracting the instrumental part from the whole track). This can be done with basic phase inversion techniques or with a program like Utagoe (Google "the ultimate fanmix thread" for an English-language intro to fanmixing and a link to download Utagoe).
