How to Install/Uninstall Wii VC Titles

To install and uninstall channel WADs you must have the WAD installer/uninstaller or the WAD manager. Here I install the VC game Donkey Kong for the NES, and remove it from my flash memory. The channel is fully functional.

I am using the WAD installer/unistaller through the Homebrew Channel. For those of you who don't have the Homebrew Channel and would like to do this, find the Homebrew Channel tutorial with the involved the Twilight Hack. I will not release any download links, sorry.

This really has nothing to do with the video, but if you buy something on the Wii Shop Channel, Nintendo will keep track of your account transactions, meaning you'll be able to download what you've already bought again and again.

What if I have all the VC wads that I want to play, installed, and I update my firmware, thus unmodding it, to play newer games. Will the VC games I installed still be there?

I don't want to try it and loose my saved games.

First of all, why in the world are you wanting to update in the first place? Doing that will grim-reap homebrew on your system forever. Secondly, Nintendo may be checking for unofficiially installed titles through updates, but I don't know for sure.

im using wad manager 1.3, and it wont load my wad files. iv tried cios. still wont work either way. i just keep getting errors when the install process tries to install. what is causing this, and how can i fix it? my wads are in the right place, and the installers are installed correctally, it just wont work. fml...

Well I can't remember the version I'm using, but whatever it is, it's never given me any problems. Are your WADs of the wrong region?

also checkout wiibrew.org,it says something about not putting boot.dol or boot.elf files for an app(like wad manager) directly in the apps folder but to put it in a subfolder ,says there should be 1 and only 1 folder between the apps foldr and the boot.dol or boot.elf file

example /apps/afolder/boot.elf or /apps/wadmanager/boot.elf

hey buddy, my wii is 3.1U, i got homebrew channel, and a megaman 9 and 10 wad, i install them in Wad Manager, i lauch this games on the loader, it goes dark for seconds, and then, i go back to the main menu! can you help me? my wii is 3.1U
