Welcome to the College of Charleston Libraries! Completed in 2005, the Marlene and Nathan Addlestone Library houses a variety of print and electronic resources, offers instruction and research services, and accommodates researchers with private and group study areas. Addlestone also hosts the Student Computing Lab (250 computers), Center for Student Learning, Center for Effective Teaching and Learning, and Java City café. The Avery Research Center preserves and documents Lowcountry African American history and culture, and Special Collections acquires and manages holdings that include rare books and handwritten manuscripts. Both Avery and Special Collections host ongoing exhibits and public programs. The Marine Resources Center Library at Fort Johnson on James Island serves students, faculty, and researchers of marine biology and environmental studies.
