This was the first time I've seen The Troopers since DCI prelims in 1979. Their show is "Western Side Story" -- a variation on the musical. Great stuff, a great show, and the best drum major at the show. The crowd loved them, but--as usual-they get screwed by the judges. This is the final 4 minutes of their show. Sorry for the audio quality.

  • Where is this located in Hillsboro?

  • @JJKK12334 - At Hillsboro Stadium in Hillsboro, OR. We've been there the last 3 years. DCI won't let corps come up to Seattle for the Cascades home show, so the Cascades moved the show to OR.

  • If you look at the scores throughout the season, it's no fluke. I'm sorry, but Madison and the Academy could not have made up the point differential in time to squeeze past them. That's the name of the game folks. I hope the Troopers continue on next year and I look forward to seeing them next year.

  • I saw the Troopers twice in early July. Their show had great potential but it needed clearning. I watched the scoring of them all throughout the season and they sparred neck-and-neck and toe-to-toe with the Colts to get that 12th place spot. It was consistent throughout the season. It wasn't a "gift" or a "feel good story"---they earned it.

  • Hey everyone...I posted this video to show everyone that The Troop is BACK! There has always been discussions about them earning their way back into finals. I was in Birmingham, AL in 1979 for prelims and if the buzz was that if the Troopers didn't make it into the Top 12, they would fold. They gave the performance of their freakin' lives and they made it---while the Crossmen "mailed it in" and wound up in 13th place.

  • They are STILL fighting to get into 12th place (score-wise). It's between them and The Colts. We just have to hope they peak next week.

  • wow! nice uniforms!

  • well said buddy. i marched in a non finalist drumcorps and it was the best time of my life. would change it for any thing

  • The Colts were close to beating Troopers for that last spot. Hats off to The Colts for an awesome show as well. In my opinion their show deserved to be in finals.

  • Honestly, why do people care about the scoring? Really? You like what you like. I've loved Boston evee since i've heard them, they've never won or anything but i've liked them so i don't really see how score matters so much to the fans...I love heaing corps. play, no matter what coprs. or where they place. As a young drummer i look up to all of them not just the ones that win. I would be happy to march the last place corps. if i could lol

  • Clean wins.

Troopers did a great job in 09 pushing their show past clean and sold the production.. I haven't heard Academy or Scouts say anything bad about Troopers in 12th..

  • If you knew anything about the way judging is decided, you'd know why they made the decision they made.

Judging isn't solely based on how 'clean' you are. There is much more to it than that, just ask anyone who's actually MARCHED drum corps.
