@stefmjones there is more skill for the driver, havin to turn the wheel just the perfect about and give it just the right gas or brake around the turn when you throw the car sideways, if youre off by the slightest of margins, your car will easily hook while its sliding and you go into the wall. its tough drivin dirt. its two different styles but it takes more to drive on dirt i will agree with ya there.

@Milanista2008 I think this was from the "official" film of the race produced by or for the Darlington speedway.

A week later, an edited videotape of the race was shown on "Wide World Of sports", but it was in black-and-white.

@Philip83151 agreed!! and im sure at times it is better, but i can remember as a kid goin to dirt tracks and the feel and excitment was always way better! for me any how. i love nascar, but id pick dirt over assfault anyday. theres more skill involved in dirt.

@Philip83151 they dont build the frames the same these days, back then it was ur own blood swet n tears! old school new how to REALLY make it fun. :) now, they have ppl with degrees that half the time have never been in a real race car, tellin them whats safe and whats not.  still fun to watch though! :)

with all these crashes like this back then, its like its no big deal. now if a car gets a foot off the ground, its a huge deal. lol maybe just cause we dont see wrecks like this these days. who knows
