With the economy the way it is, more people have resorted to trying to do their own repairs and maintenance. This is the step by step procedure for manual transmission removal on a full size Dodge Ram 1500 pickup 4 x 2, 3.7L V6. Flywheel, clutch, and trans re-installation coming soon. I hope this helps. I graduated from Wyotech in 1995 and I'm an ASE Master Tech with advanced engine performance certification, light duty diesel cert, and I'm a certified service consultant. If you have any automotive related questions, ask in the comments or send me a message. I plan to upload more automotive how to videos, some racing videos, more firearms videos, and some pranks related to all of the above. Thanks for watching. Please rate and subscribe.

  • Question for the expert. How hard is it to change a manual transmission to an automatic

  • @ohblondi It is easier to go from manual to auto than auto to manual. You need a radiator, flexplate, torque converter, trans cooler lines, shift linkage (or floor shifter kit), and there may be some other misc. parts that aren't interchangeable: drive shaft, crossmember, mount, reverse light switch & wiring, speed sensor, etc.

  • Is this procedure gonna be the same for a 93 Dakota 2wd with 3,9 v6?

    Very detailed step by step!

    Much appreciated

  • @undrunkpunk It should be very similar. Thanks.

  • Holy crap. I don't think I'll be doing this in my driveway!

I have a 2001 Cummins diesel with 6 speed tranny. I thought about renting some tools, but this looks like more than I want to try.

Nice job on the video; sorry about the camera accident and I hope you didn't bend the drawbar.

  • @paelgin That would be a back-breaker on the ground!

  • Where can I look for a video on a 1995 dodge ram 1500 clutch replacement?

  • @edith4670 If I am reading this right, you can push the clutch pedal down & it makes a noise. It makes noise if you are not pushing the pedal down too, or it makes noise as you hold it down? You also have the noise if the engine is not running?

  • @roadragecustoms yes, it continues even if I'm not presing the clutch . and the noise is not always the same, some times is softer and then loud againg.

the noise still the same whether the truck is runing or not but always the sound is changing from loud to soft and then loud again, and the noise start at once but I don't know much because I only have one week with the truck, well that's all I know if you can help me with that litle information I'll appreciete.

    thank you for your time!

  • @edith4670 Give me a little more info & I'll try to help. If you hold the pedal down does the noise continue, or does it only do it as the pedal in moving downward? Is the noise the same whether or not the engine is running? Did the problem gradually start, happen all at once, or was some trans or clutch work done then it started?
