In this simulation the system is started in a state diametrically opposed to the correct state. But the sensor readings don't help much initially. Eventually we get some very wrong sensor predictions, and that ends up making the estimate move towards the correct place.
The sensor function here is [ x[0]/(0.1+x[1]**2)**0.25, x[1]*x[0] ]
