This is the third video on how to practice, play, and improvise in odd time signatures. Examples are in 5/4 but apply to any meter like 7/4, 9/4, and even 4/4. I'll be talking about polyrhythms, different speeds (8th notes, triplets, 16th notes), and improvisation in odd time signatures. At the end I'm demonstrating how to combine ideas from the various exercises in a solo.
With this video comes free sheet music: Exercise Sheets (pdf) are on my website in the "Download" section.
I hope this is helpful. I appreciate any feedback you can give me!
The other exercises are to be found on my channel or by searching Free Saxophone Lessons - Odd Meter Exercise 2, 3 ect. Subscribe if you want to be notified about future uploads!
The song playing at the beginning and end of the lesson is my original composition "Riverside Walk". To hear the full song you can go to my website: http://jonasganzemuller.com/ or watch on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4whUSTIFhU&feature=feedu
All the best,

Jonas thanks heaps man, you're explanations are great! Would you mind posting a video or just talk a little about the types of things you include in your daily practice? I've been focusing on transcription a lot over the last few months but I worry that I might not be putting enough time into scales and things. If you have any thoughts I'd be stoked to hear them. Cheers
