San Jose Copwatch on Cinco de Mayo

Every Cinco de Mayo, San Jose police use excessive force. This year, community members formed a "copwatch" -- an activity of video monitering the police in order to hold them accountable. The following is a sample clip.

those cops were just trying to arrest a person who was obviously drunk in public. the guy started getting out of hand and the police had to use the necessary force to affect the arrest. everyone on here saying otherwise is an ignorant bigot.

Good to hear. A person who is drunk isn't nearly as a bad as a murderer, although they can get pretty close if they drive drunk and kill someone. (involuntary manslaughter). And yes, not all cops are bad but there are some who do abuse their authority. It happens.

I agree with everything you said, but I would change drunks to drunken drivers. If a person is a drunk doesn't mean they're as bad as a murderer, as long as they don't drive. A person can drink and be responsible. To condemn all people who drink is counterproductive, but I agree with everything else you said. I don't like all cops, but I don't disrespect them all, either.
