Charles Caudill, an Emmy award-winning international journalist and high-tech marketing executive, has spent more than 26 years in the broadcasting and cable television news industry, and currently leads the Caudill Media Management team.

Caudill directed news coverage, often on location, for such major news stories as the Soviet coups, the breakup of the Soviet Union, the student demonstrations at Tianamen Square in Beijing, along with every major U.S. national election since 1984.

Caudill won praise, along with many awards, for his direction of CNNs Gulf War coverage, as the upstart cable network continually outflanked the three primary broadcast networks and achieved worldwide recognition as the leader in breaking news.

For Executive Insights, Caudill discussed the intersection of global politics and leadership in the media business. How is media coverage, especially television, shaped by business demands? How has the media business changed over the last 20 years as technology and globalization reshaped the world? Charles shared some personal stories of leading news coverage of some of the most profound political events of the past quarter century, and his thoughts on the media influences in the current election. Lastly, he demonstrated how his remarkable career shaped his recent entrepreneurial achievements in technology and media, and how you as students can use experiences to achieve your career aspirations.
