A republic is no good, read Aristotle he understood that a republic is only good for the ultra rich. Now a direct democracy is no good either because it puts the individuals rights in jeopardy. The only fair government is a parliamentary democracy. Having a republic is what gets us into all these illegal wars. Why do you think Switzerland stays out of all these wars and entangling alliances, it is because they have a multi-party parliamentary democracy. The American public needs to wake up

@xxdiogenescynicxx What specifically does a republic have to do with starting wars without declaration? The word "republic" (coming from "res" and "publica") means rule by law. If we were a true republic and our president was ruled by higher law more, we wouldn't have to worry about wars like this. If we were a democracy all you would need to do to start an illegal war would be to brainwash 51% of the population into supporting it.
