  • i love youe show, i to want to farm like you. how to plant and cook..............thanks

  • @MonyMG1959

Yes you still have to feed them some, laying hens need calcium and they usally won't get enough protein free ranging.

  • Do you really have to feed the chicken if they are free?...They will help you to control pest and you can eat their eggs, when they die of natural death you can use their feathers...Same goes for all the others animal...We really do no need to eat or abuse them. I think taste is a developed sense, especially when it come to what we eat.

  • what a twat, not hugh mind

  • hughis the Man, dunno about Zelator?

  • I have just been involved the filming of the new series and i am happy to tell you it will be aired on January 2008! Its pretty amazing!

  • can you please tell me what the red convertible that hugh drives is called as it is driving in river cottage as my dad is driving us all nuts

  • I gotta say, when Hugh moved from the actual cottage after the 3rd series (R.C Forever) i started to lose interest, it allbecame to obviously commercial, however i do realize it's about spreading the word of good food & knowing where it came from, but for me, i'm disappointed in the route taken.

  • sign me up!!!!

  • well done, this is making River Cottage Available to everyone who cannot make it to Devon.

To all you negative hippy's- you cant pay the mortgage with fruit and vegetables

  • Come on people, it's not as bad as some of you think. Infact, I think it's a brilliant idea and I will be joining as soon as I've got £35 to spare. It's all about getting the public in the know with ethical, seasonal food and Hugh might be making a living out of it, but if it get's people knowledgeable and away from the 'convenient anf fast' food mindset then so be it. Keep up the good work Hugh and team! I look forward to the chicken course!

  • I think Hugh you have been misunderstood on this venture. Having read the membership detail it's damn good value for money and I understand what you are trying to acheive. It unfortunately for you came across as a marketing ploy....you may have become too successful for you're own good. Funny how all the negative comments were sparked by one!!!!. At least you are trying you're damndest to change attitudes. Keep up the good work and I for one would love to meet you

  • I like the new tv programme as it is new stuff not a rehash of old, which I must have seen 100 times on sky ; as for this marketing, it leaves me cold. linda

  • Oh come on, give us a break! Don't take us for mugs! Hope you get your production costs back.

  • River cottage rules, I love the getting back to basics idea of cooking and seasonal food. Keep up the good work Hugh and please get a new series back on TV.

  • Read the comments Hugh: this is over the top. River Cottage HQ? Why not rename your enterprise River Cottage Corporation (TM). Keep it real, keep it grass roots, this is turning me right off.
