  • Good tribute to northwest airlines. I don't like the new design of northwest. It's all silver that just says NWA. I like the old design, the dark red and gray design. That was cool.

  • Go Northwest! Bad Delta for repainting all the planes. I hope that the FAA denies Delta the certificate for operating the combined airline and that they retain their separate identities (albeit under Delta ownership)

  • Reminds me of my flights from Detroit to Minneapolis

  • Delta Sucks I miss Northwest!

  • The first DC-10 I flew on from Detroit to Seattle. I was excited, it was the first wide body I flew on.

  • @natewv1 Right before they went bankrupt they still had a lot of those old painted aircrafts-I remember I used to ride them all the time.

  • I agree with the comment of the previous person concerning the last color scheme.

They look like cargo planes. I believe a deal was struck between management of both Delta & Northwest to put both companies together just after filing for bankrupsy.

I am retired from Northwest. I liked the old Northwest Orient colors. One good thing about the merger...........those vintage, outdated, Republic DC-9s finally will pass into history for good. (Exception: Ex-North Central DC-9-50s continue)

  • at 3:37 the end of plane on the tail it says ups

  • cool vid,

    what the song

  • How did you get the music?

  • I flew Northwest twice...both in 1997. I flew round trip to Kansas City, Kansas with my father. I fell asleep on the flight from LA to Kansas City in the middle seat but when I woke up, I was at a window seat. We switched planes somewhere...I'm guessing

  • As a former and now retired NW employee, I joined Northwest Orient Airlines in 1973. My first assignment was O'hare Field (Chicago). The 707's were almost gone. There were a lot of good times as well as bad. I think people are the most important element in a company. They are the ones who actually do the work. Management reaps the harvest in the form of excessive pay. But somehow the airline survived. I'm sure many will agree............we had a good run.
