This ceremony is to remember and honor the first pioneer of the city of New Castle by erecting this historic marker to let people know that tey are not forgotten.
This cemetery is the first cemetery used for the burial of the original pioneer settlers and founders of the city of New Castle, IN. Established in 1823.
Enterred here are two veterans of the war of 1812 , the first business men, doctors, lawyers and other very first merchants and the pioneers who tamed the wilderness to establish the town.
