  • I'm seriously looking for brush hog. Behind my undeveloped property as some rocks. Can this equip handle the rocks?

  • @arlenearmy Sorry, But no brush hogs can handle rocks unless you want your blades messed up/broke. This brush hog (John Deere 709) can handle brush up to 3 or 4 inches in diameter. You better pick up the rocks or buy a tractor with a front end loader to move them.

  • we used a brush hog for hay a few times when our haybine was busted, the cut is rougher and it isnt in nice rows but it does the job

  • @gokory Also they aren't made for cutting hay because it shreds it up into nothing. I was brush hogging this field because it was all weeds.

  • I don't have that much to bush hog, but do have three acres to clear. Right now I am looking for the tools to remove the blades for sharpening. Thanks for sharing the video with us.

  • @semco72057 You could always jack the brush hog up and block it and take a grinder to the blades without taking them off. A lot easier to do. Make sure the PTO shaft isn't hooked up for extra safety.

  • hey im looking for a housing for my deere, does anyone know where to get one cheap. i obviously know the dealer but their running around 210-235 there, any help would be great

  • @gokory thanks. I went ahead & ordered the DR brushhog the other day. They told me it would take 16 days for delivery. About those rocks, I guess I better get the weed eater & then brush hog carefully so I can avoid those rocks.

  • @brian93ist I may have used 2gal. Of diesel to brush hog that field. Tractor is very fuel efficient. There was no way all that ragweed was going to burn because of it being so green. Plus there are gas wells around, fire and gas wells do not go together well. And for baling weeds, this was 99% ragweed. No animal I know would eat it.
