Gramophone-award winning Czech mezzo soprano Magdalena Kozõená leads a top line-up of soloists for three of Bach's most admired Cantatas (BWV 113, 179 & 199), with Sir John Eliot Gardiner conducting the Monteverdi Choir and English Baroque Soloists in the beautiful St Davids Cathedral in Wales.

  • I'm sorry but I don't get one word from any of these performers. The blank space after every consonent kills the diction. It gives an organ pedal effect to each note sung and cuts off the sense of note and melodic line. It's so artificial, but it's all we hear now. Sir John, I am surprised you are perpetuating this form of singing. After all, it's essentially about melody and text, not affectation.

  • ~hey boys~
