  • @Dps081393 So if order never existed, than what exactly would happen in an atheistic world? There is no order to descend from.

And again, what about before writing? Before organized religion? Societies existed during those times with rights just as strong as they were after.

Also, just wondering, what is your basis for this theory? At least in terms of the Abrahamic holy books they are mostly filled with what people are forbidden to do, not what they are allowed to do.

  • @DragonGreenFire

i meant, basically yes, i believe religious texts are stopping government from taking our rights. i wasn't answering your questions with it.

there was never order, only the circle of life. struggle for dominance has always existed.

  • @Dps081393 Throw in basic human kindness and they then help more than they hurt.

And never mind that, re-reading it, I realized it was just an emphasis on the other point.

  • @Dps081393 Also, even assuming your premise that all atheists need to be productive to be worthy of life is true, all they need to do is benefit society more than they (as an individual) hurt it. This isn't too hard of a task considering as long as you are a mediocre person you shouldn't be causing much more of a problem than resource consumption, meaning they would only need to produce as much as they consume, which is natural in a capitalist society.

  • @Dps081393 I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but it seems as if you are saying that because atheists don't hep people on a mass scale that means that they shouldn't live. But again, atheists aren't completely centric to making society work efficiently just how christians aren't living every moment of their life in devotion to god.

  • @Dps081393 I will concerned to that, but only because everything will ultimately impact morality. Anyone else see the coincidence that the area of the U.S. that needed slavery for their economy also was the area that saw it as morally acceptable? So to say that religion is no more a factor than anything else is to say that the world could progress just as it had without religion in terms of morality. Therefore the government would be no more prone to violations of said morality.

  • @Dps081393 "basically, yes"? I asked several questions, to none of which is "yes" a valid answer.

But even since the dawn of humanity, before written language even existed, before organized religion, order was still somehow maintained.

And even then, animals still managed to show what we would identify as morality. In an elephant pack, if one is in trouble the others help will help him. I do not believe elephants need any religion to motivate them to do this.

  • @DragonGreenFire another atheistic conundrum for me. an atheist is concerned w/ the real.the reality is the majority won't change the world for future generations to prosper, yet almost all are concerned w/ death. if they can't contribute, why do they insist upon inhabiting this world?

and what was the point you needed me to clarify?
