After being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, Mike Sickel went vegan. He not only lost 150 pounds, he also tossed out his diabetes medications.
This Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine reverse diabetes success story is based on Dr. Neal Barnards Program for Reversing Diabetes that is shown to be three times more effective than the American Diabetes Association dietary guidelines at controlling blood sugar.
@watcher9999999999999 Agriculture has only been around for 10,000 years. Man has been on earth for at least a million. How did he eat grains before agriculture? He was a hunter-gatherer. He had no means of processing grains into anything edible. And it would take a lot longer than 10,000 years for man to evolved into vegan from carnivore. It is you who has drunk the cool-aid. I have been vegan and macro, but that was before the internet. No excuse for ignorance now.

Mr Trashcan I'm afraid you're talking....trash! Sorry - couldnt resist the pun. Grains are our body's most natural fuel, and avoiding meat for as long as possible is also best as we are not designed to eat meat. Our health is naturally restored as soon as we go back to eating man's most natural diet - starchy carbs, veg and fruit, minimizing fat/oils/sugar/processed foods. Good luck!

Getting off processed foods and sugar will certainly improve everyone's health. And certainly nothing wrong with veggies, even those with starch. But grains (whole or otherwise) will eventually destroy your health, as will the lack of meat. It will take time, but it will happen.
