@LittleMissJmoo Bea was transfered to Barnhurst and that was the last we ever saw of her. A while later staff at Wentworth were informed that there had been a fire at Barnhurst and Bea Smith had died as a result. I guess they figured she wasn't going to come back into the show so they wrote her out completely.

You mention proof SharnsiR. I don't think there's ever any proof that Kate actually killed Sandy. She intimates that she may have done the deed during her schizoid rambling state but she is clearly confused between Sandy and Conrad at this point, so even this 'admission' is doubtful. Sandy's so-called murder is NEVER proved - it's merely a suggestion by the dillusional Kate. Sandy may've escaped and given Kate the knife for protection from Marie. It's left to the viewer to interpret the end.
