AKAI APC20 Compact Ableton LIVE Controller @ NAMM 2010

DJ Ty goes over the new APC20 Compact Ableton LIVE controller at NAMM 2010. Very similar to the left 2/3 of the APC40 in looks. The APC20 is AKAI's answer to the Novation Launchpad to get a LIVE controller on the market at that $199 price point. Very solid build with plenty of feature controls for the most savvy LIVE user. Nice job AKAI

@directsound Hmmmm, tough choice. They are drastically different. The launchpad is much more animated, but doesn't have the hardware faders. I think the APC20 might be a little easier to use out of the box with all the labeled buttons. The launchpad is very cool 'looking' in action. Now that The Bridge is shipping, I can tell you I will be spending some time with Ableton LIVE.

i'm according to agiprodj, it's the hardware faders are the main feature that makes apc20 a better choice (imho), the launchpad's pad-mapped faders are too coarse grained (only 8 levels, while the apc20's faders are continue)
