Battle of the Bulge Diorama 6 24 09

Some more views of the diorama. Wanted to show the aircraft that are above the diorama. B-24's, B-17s, P-51s, P-38s, C-47s, Fw-190s, P-47s. Plus views of the battlefield from above. Also showing more of the town. Some of the buildings are Verlinden kits, but most are scratch built buildings.

The buildings are brilliant. I don't know what it looks like in real life, but if Band of Brothers is anything to go by, very accurate.

@safetyfirst70 Thanks. Most of the buildings were scratch built. It was our first experience in making them and we were real happy with the results.

@explozer9 We finished the Battle of Okinawa last year and we are about to start one for D-Day and Omaha Beach. Check out our Okinawa diorama when you get a chance.

Did you build alone? Same? How is an area? Which time?

@explozer9 The diorama was built by a team of 3 people. It is 12 feet by 24 feet and it took us about 12 months to build it.

i can also remember going to a museum there were they had a small diorama but the same scale as this one.

It showed a crossraod in the battle of the bulge with commanders looking at maps. a mechanic fixing his kubel car. and some tiger tanks moving along the road

you should do a hurtgen forrest diorama just before battle of the bulge.

@bleushift Thanks for the comments. We always like to hear from people who have actually been there. We had some pictures to use but a lot of it was from our imagination.
