These are some of my favorite books that rarely show up on people's lists of favorites for some reason. I absolutely love them though.

I actually liked "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" FAR more than "Everything is Illuminated" but I've loaned out my copy so I used what I had.

The twelve books are:
Villette by Charlotte Bronte
A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly
The Ladies of Grace Adieu by Susana Clarke
Pastwatch by Orson Scott Card
Till we have Faces by CS Lewis
Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes
Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy
The Princess by Alfred Lord Tennyson
I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
My Name is Asher Lev by Chaim Potok
Phantastes by George MacDonald
Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safron Foer

The song is Paperback Writer by the Beatles

  • The Princess by Tennyson <3 One of my favorites as well! Thanks for posting, it's great to see some less common books on youtube! Long live the written culture!

  • @TheHumanFiction Amen! I swear it's one of the downright coolest books that nobody ever reads. What's up with that?
