Interview of Ron Mader, founder of www.planeta.com, a global journal of practical ecotourism, at the Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference where he received an innovation award. The conference sponsored by The International Ecotourism Society (TIES) was held September 8-10 in Portland, Oregon. Mr. Mader was interviewed by Ruth Ann Barrett, founder of EarthSayers.tv, the voices of sustainability. Mr. Mader is a strong voice for respecting the indigenous communities around the world. Here he addresses the use of the Web to promote indigenous communities to travelers. Created in 1994, Planeta.com is a handcrafted website aimed at travelers and locals alike who share a common vision of eco-friendly, people-friendly and place-friendly travel. There are countless ways to participate.
