Balochistan, July 26: Pakistan's repressive measures in Balochistan are clearly reflected in the assassination of Baloch leaders allegedly by law enforcement agencies. On July 11, 2010, a Baloch leader and former Mayor of Turbat, Maula Baksh Dashti was shot dead while he was traveling in a car. Three days later, Habib Jalib Baloch, the secretary general of the Balochistan Nationalist Party (Mengal group) was gunned down near Musa Colony in Quetta. The incidents were widely condemned by the Baloch people who protested against the atrocities of Pakistan's law enforcement agencies and for their alleged role in the killings meant to silence dissenting voices in Balochistan.

  • The Baloch leaders and innocent people, who oppose the illegal occupation of their territory, have been ill-treated, kidnapped and assassinated by Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies.

  • People in Balochistan have been politically, socially and culturally oppressed since 1948.

  • It’s a cold-blooded assassination.
