This is the premiere performance of my march, "The Blue Devils" by the Central Connecticut State University Symphonic Band, under the direction of Dr. Thomas Seddon, at the Spring Concert, 2009.
"The Blue Devils" was written for the CCSU Blue Devil Marching Band. Up until this composition, the band utilized a simple, single-versed melody that had existed for many years as its fight song. A complete march was written around this melody, which is heard as the trio. The march also quotes the CCSU Alma Mater ("Madrid"), heard in the second strain and breakstrain. Other neat features of the march includes a bombastically irreverent bass drum solo in the trio, and an embedded "Devil's Interval" (also in the trio). Also note the arpeggiated sixteenth pattern motif, heard originally in the first strain.
Many thanks to Dr. Seddon, and the CCSU Wind Symphony for the performance of my march.

OK! Now a new question...What time is the trio...and is there a "short" version for the fight song?

The trio starts at 1:17
The "short version" or tag starts at 2:44
