  • I was going to leave out the fact thta they appeared the dominate the few contests that I observed. However, you don't get better by fighting against people you can handily defeat. I'm sure you all appreciated the intense competition.

  • Actually, the real matches were against the girls from East Bay Judo Institute trained under Dr. Matsumoto Sensei. EBJI & SFSU usually host the teams that come visit the bay area. Unfortunately, i can only post up certain videos =/

  • wonderful judo contest, ladies. weaker sex my eye! is kokushikan a japanese university?

  • yup! kokushikan is a university in japan. every year they send a team of students to come scrimmage/train with us. they're amazing! haha

  • moriwaki sensei:):)

  • oh ok, then but you can still get better by going against easier opponents.

  • Two truths. First, I'm a ma'am or ms. My name is Linda Marie. Second, you might want to revisit the original sentence. "However, you don't get better by fighting against people you can HANDILY defeat". That is, you don't get better by fighting against people who you can easiliy dominate. The implicit argument is that you have a better chance of getting better by fighting against opponents who are indeed tougher and better than you. There's only one response, Lillilizz. You made a mistake!

  • Sir, you said you dont get better by.

  • You're aware that you made my point, right? That was the purpose of my point .... to acknowledge that you're more apt to improve by competing against folks who are better than you. This applies in any sport, certainly in judo.

  • Uh, yeah you do.. If i were to keep rolling with my professor everyday, in time i would learn how to counter or avoid moves that he would use on me that i got use to. The more i go against him the more i will see his style and learn how to defend...
