More QB sacks by Miami at the beginning of the second quarter with the unstoppable Maryland leading the flood, with 3 of the first 5 sacks on Gardere including a demolition job. Giles hits Miami RB and gets a brush back by an OL later, also see the coldness of the tarp, shades of the frozen tundra. Butch Hadnot gets UT's first 1st down of the game with 11 minutes left in the first half. UT drove the ball down to to inside the 10 but sack # 6 and a near INT by Bailey left UT with only a Pollack FG, making it 12-3.

Kevin Williams with the KO Return, a FR backup WR from Dallas who would later play for the Cowboys. UT did have good DL play with 5 sacks in the game of our own and when getting pressure on Erickson, made him look average. Miami was running crossing routes all day to brush off the UT DBs and UT could not adjust, plus the speed difference was too much to overcome at the DB vs. WR matchups.

Robert Bailey picks off Gardere deep inside UT territory which leads to a nice TD pass to Carroll, XP makes it 19-3.

Gardere is sacked for the 7th time but it's a facemask penalty. Gardere has a big run off the option and Hadnot follows. UT again deep inside Miami territory but a 4th down pass to Cash is out of bounds.

We see that Miami got 13 points off UT TOs deep inside UT territory, all based on UT pass plays. UT was deep inside Miami land 3 times but came up with only 3 points. UT also could have had 7 per the Richard near INT and taken away 3 Miami points. Hmmm.
Lets give UT some credit. 2nd half though is a different story
