Wow, great video! The NC government needs to catch up with the surrounding states in offering opportunities for optimal birthing. Lucky, though, that they have 15 CPMs who are willing to provide maternity care even though the environment is so backward and slow in getting CPM licensing passed.

This is a great discussion of the options that many women do not have in many states in America. NC is just one of the states that is fighting to get more attention for home births. Please help support this great cause!

It amazes me that we have let birth get to this point in our society. It seems like giving women more options, like licensed home birth midwives would be one way to move things in a more positive direction. I would think anyone who really cares about women and babies would be for this legislation. What women and babies are forced to go through in the hospitals is far from optimal care. I hope the NC legislature will recognize this and pass this bill in 2009.

Wow, this is great. North Carolina needs to recognize the need for midwives, and to offer licensure to the Certified Professional Midwife.
