Updates on the poorly pony :)

The poorly pony is now on the way to recovery! After his scope he was diagnosed with gastric ulcers and was on a syringe of medication everyday and some stuff for this feed for a month and I wasn't able to ride much, then last week he went for another scope to hopefully be given the all clear but unfortunately he wasn't, the ulcers are 75% gone so now he's on THREEE syringes a day for another month then back to the vets for another scope! I can now start riding but haven't be able to get any footage but I took a few photos today :} he's already coming along very nicely and the difference is unbelievable! Will try my hardest to get some decent footage :}
Im soooooo relieved! He went through a really bad patch where he wasn't eating and was at the vets and there were suggesting that he could be really bad such as kissing spine, but thankfully its not! They vets said he's probably had the ulcers ever since I got him which would explain his performance/behaviour and im so excited to see what he's gunna be like after this is all over! It's been a year long battle with him now but gahhh i cant wait for it all to be over! Going to take him for a clear round in a few weeks just see how things gooooo

also! Ulcers are really horrible thing for a horse to go through, and they really do go unnoticed, it took me 9 months and i feel incredibly guilty, its also some sort of gastric ulcer awarness month or something so PLEASE if you think something could be wrong with your horse, try this: http://www.equinegastriculcers.co.uk/risk/index.html is should tell you there risk but it really is hard to spot and will be easier to cure as soon as they are found

Ahhh, I'm so glad Chip is on the mend! :') It must have been horrible for you both, but at least things are looking up now! Don't feel guilty.. like you said yourself they are really hard to spot and it's obvious you love him to bits :) Oh, and some yummy piccies in there.. can't wait to see you guys back in action! :) xx

Aww no bless him, i wondered y you guys werent out doing much!. Poor thing, im glad hes getting better and things are working out 4 you guys now. I no its something like 80% of horses have them its just the really bad cases are nasty! Cant wait 2 c you guys out and jumping again hehe x
