It's not like google works for the government, but when the government orders google to hand over all the user data it collected, it has no choice, and it has *a lot* more information than it needs. Think of China or Iran: google is the simplest and cheapest tool to create an authoritarian regime and google doesn't seem to give a shit as long as it's profit.
So on one hand the government should respect your privacy, but it can still bypass it by calling google. Um, what's the difference?

Why has ixquick been disabled today (10-30-10, 1pm +) and why are all my searches going through google. Ixquick is saved as my default search engine. My web tab states Ixquick but the Google logo is clearly visible next to my web tab. Search results look like the usual Ixquick search results but with the Google logo on the tab. Whats going on, Infilitrated?

I <3 ixquick. I'm waiting for the day they switch to the hypertext transfer protocol secure so they can truly be the most secure and private thing on the web.

Finally found what I have been looking for. A secure alternative to the CIA funded Google privacy invader. Gmail canceled. YouTube account canceled.. If you guys need a bogus email so Youtube doesn't know who you are go to Hushmail.com and setup an email. They don't require any personal info to set up an email address.

Looking for a private email service provider to go with your privacy ixquick server. Try privacy harbor.com for private email server

@surearrow "This extends to some pages you click on from proxy pages" It means ALL the proxy pages you click on from their page, and even some links from the secondary page that is not ixquicks.
Thank you ixquick for giving people an alternative to the privacy monster GOOGLE has become

Google saves your searchs, reads your email and monitors all of your internet activity. The question is, what will they do with all of this information? Count me out. Thank you IXquick.
