I live in Townsville, and I used to hate it when I was a teenager because its too hot and not a lot to do, but now as a parent of young kids (my kids are all under 6) I like it a lot more it has a lot to offer for raising a family.
But its still too hot lol it was 35 degrees on Christmas Day sigh...

Hamisharn, I have traveled over a big chunk of the world and most of Australia. I haven't lived there in 20 years but I still think of it as home and I love going back. Townsville is what it is and that is awesome to me. Saying that you need to travel to compare it is wrong. If you know that something is perfect for you then you don't need to go check it against something else. Maybe you should travel more and find out why Townsville is so awesome.

I lived in Mundingburra for 20 years. I went to school in Pimlico, I hung out on Maggie Is and the Strand and I did all the stuff kids in Townsville in the 80's did. I couldn't wait to escape the place. So I've spent the next 20 years living in or traveling to just about every other major city in Australia. Now I can't wait to move back to Townsville. But guys, don't bite at the morons because it makes you sound ordinary and hick. And anyway, wavo's obviously a tool so don't let him stress you.

I do live in townsville but not by choice I don't really like it because it's too hot and there's not really anywhere to go. But the people are great and it is beautiful.

Everyone should love Townsville. Townsville is amazing. Townsville is basically the opposite of Cairns, a city of smelly backpackers and stinking mudflats, dedicated to stealing your soul and your money. Also, Townsville has a beach.
