  • Awesome video! Where were you guys? Me and my dad were chasing by Kingston MN but no Tornado. Do you guys take a trip together to storm chase? Where are you from?

  • @2ndcoming1 Thanks! I posted a link in the description under Jeff's name. He has a very detailed write up of what happened that day. Also, at the bottom, there's a map of our gps trail. I used to be a meteorology major and the rest of the guys in our group are meteorology grad students at Iowa State.

Thanks for checking out the video.

  • parkersburg iowa worst ever

  • @colingrooters I was there for that one too. Unfortunately, we were about 10 miles behind it. It damaged 2 of my relatives' farms.

I'm not sure if I'd call it the worst one ever though. The Greensburg, Kansas EF5 was pretty rough.

  • wow, I like the way you caught it on video and I like your commentary, Tornado looks scary, but being originally from Texas, we see these A LOT! LOL wanna catch a lot of good footage? Head over to Oklahoma. They seem to be Tornado central.

  • @renjichic78 Haha.. Thanks. I would definitely like some better hardware for chasing. As for the commentary, our chase team was definitely a little over excited. After driving thousands of miles this summer, this was our first tornado day of the year. I would love to chase in Oklahoma sometime, but when you're a college kid, it's cheaper to make a round trip without staying the night.

  • that day was so scary....

  • I remember this! It was a Thursday. My great-aunt and I decided to run down to Montgomery, MN from St. Paul to get some Kolaches and when we were in the shop picking them up, we heard about the storms to the north. It normally takes about an hour or so one way, but we made it in 40 minutes. It was my dad's wedding weekend. We got back, and look at the radar and saw where we just were was getting hammered. Too bad, I should've stayed!

  • nice video guys, check out mine from the same day

  • kool video and were there any tornadoes in rochester mn? because my family wants 2 move there nd they r afraid that a tornado will hit the house nd kill them!

  • Thanks for posting this amazing video!

  • Take a view of the same tornado from our vantage point on our site at 2DSTORMS. It was on the ground, you don't see the debris cloud that we saw just a couple miles west of this tornado. Look for our tornado near Ledyard, Iowa, with about 1500 views on the second page.
