Dec 3rd, 2011 Wolf Creek, CO, 1st powder day of the season!! Russ and Becky tree skiing mostly on the Alberta lift with a little waterfalls thrown in. It took 6 hours from Denver (getting there at 11am) but no lift lines, cheap tickets, and homemade bread and roast beef lunch special. The Friday snow report was for 5" and it snowed all day. I don't know where they measure but most of the tree skiing was knee to hip deep while the open ridge was blown off. We were there the weekend before and although it was played out there wasn't much buried treasure, all this new snow has a known, solid base.depth of 40"+. Shoulda/Couldn't use the 178 Prior Fissle, can't complain about the NS Summit 172.
