With Mikael Eliasen, performing "Ulai La-ze" by Mario Castalnuovo -Tedesco (1895-1965). Based on Jewish themes, Here is one of his Sepharadic songs, written in both Ladino and Hebrew , (sung in Hebrew).

Ulay laze yihie li ometz (One night I might gather all my strength)

Perhaps for this Ill have strength
To come into your dwelling.
Leave the door open,
But dont light the candle!

Ta ra la lay hopa...

I am yours, you are mine—
Your mother objects only to this;
But for her sons sake, I am praying
That she doesnt wake up till morning!

Ta ra la lay hopa...

My skin is not white, nor swarthy,
I have nothing to boast of,
So why is it that you chose me?
You have penetrated my soul.

Ta ra la lay hopa...
