Dear Mr Beausejour I would really like to play the harpsichord as I feel I have an affinity with it.Do you do masterclasses in the Summer.Above is a recording of the Gigue I made last night using my fairly rudimentary home equipment.What do you think? Happy New Year Rosemary

@KhagarBalugrak it's my musical literature teacher at college! I'm so lucky! :)

Harpsichord: the world's first keytar :D
-
@JupiterIV : Yes. Like often in Bach, bipartite dances are often treated counterpunctually, with fugue-like expositions, episodes, inversions in the second part, etc....
-
@bersa888 Also, did you happen to notice how fugue-like this gigue is?
-
wow men ure amazing 5 ß

@KhagarBalugrak : The harpsichordist is a world-class player :-)

This is absolutely wonderful.

children don't seem to get the head movements correct, no matter how well they play... it matters
Seriously, if I operated an ice cream truck, I would have this playing to attract the kiddies. If it went in to the conciseness of one in 2500 kids as something of value in this world, got them thinking, it would be worth it.

This harpsichordist really understands this piece. I've heard this gigue played all too often in a very hard, mechanical style, but this rendition is very sensitive and musical. Even though the harpsichord can't be played at different volumes, the musical interpretation nevertheless always comes through.
