If you ask me everybody is a little guilty of sounding like somebody else sometime in there career. But just the way it is, it's fucking music. the thing about a melody is that its such a simple thing that anyone can say it was stolen from someone else. If Coldplay gets sued i think the Beatles should just start sueing EVERYONE out there, because theres evidence of their music all over the place.

You insinuate that talented or famous musicians wouldn't have the need to rip off unsigned artists. You are wrong. This sort of thing actually happens a lot. At least 10 of Led Zepplin's biggest hits where ripped, Timbaland's been busted for it, too, and so have many other well-known stars. Yes, famous musicians actually do try to rip from unknown acts...and unfortunately they usually get away with it, which is why they continue to do so.
