Back in Vienna! The last 2 years we have also been in Vienna for running a WITP tour Stop. Vienna is awesome. Good skatespots, funny parties and really friendly people, that's why we always appreciate the trips to Vienna.

Saturday morning we arrived early at the skatepark in the Donaupark: It was like a home spot and as we remarked nothing changed. We even found some old stickers from the trip last year.

At 11 a.m. , the registration started for all the skaters 14 and younger. It was incredible to see so many kids entering the contest! There was more than 60 kids on that division. The registration crew couldn't believe that in Vienna are so many young skaters. We then continued with the 15 and older and the open division and the girls category. We also recognized a few familiar faces who already competed in the last years. It's great to see all those rippers growing up and developing their styles.
After the registration we had a short meeting with the new judges before starting. Beside Heiko Jäger, our head judge, there were Julia and Ante, both supported by Volcom and really talented skaters.

At 1 p.m. we started the contest with the first heat of the kids category. They gave their best to show all their tricks in this technical park. We saw flips, manuals, grinds and slides in the different zones.
The category 15 + was next and we saw all the locals shredding their home terrain. They impressed the judges with bigspins, backside 360 and front flip down the stairs in zone 1. In zone 2 Andy Mandl e.g. did an enormous bs noseblunt slide, another one pulled a kickflip front board on the big rail and we also saw bs 5-0s on the ledge, just for naming a few bangers.

Then the Open Division was next, and so many good tricks went down that I'm not able to name all of them, but here is a little taste. There was a huge Ollie transfer to lipslide over the whole distance of the curb, nollie down the stairs, etc.

As we had more than 100 registrated riders, we had a close time lap and therefore no time to waste in between heats but everything went down pretty good.
All in all, once again a great contest, with great skateboarding and a quite comfortable crowd. BIG thanks to the BEST crew, without them it wouldn't have been possible to run such a relaxed and great contest! Media team:
Simpert Hafemeier on the camera, Martin Herrmann making pictures; judges: Heiko Jäger, Ante and Julia Brückler; Jens Hennefarth and Felix Pfleiderer on the barbecue and last: Holger Mertn who made all the calculations.

And for sure, thanks to our friends from the industry: Electric, DVS, Burn for the drinks and go-shred.com. And to all those we forgot, whose made our trip to Vienna unforgettable.
