    I agree. I don't know why he stopped short of eliminating the second and third columns of the first row by adding -1x2nd row + -1x3rd row which would have given the solution you showed.

  • Ummmm, In the Gauss Jordan Elimination the augmented matrix should look like this:

    1 0 0 | answer

    0 1 0 | answer

    0 0 1 | answer

    the way you're doing it is the gaussian elimination. not the gauss jordan. sorry...
