The graphics make me think of World of Warcraft. I'm not sure why though... I think it has something to do with all of the vibrant colors and stark contrasts all of the wall/floor textures have.

As you suspected, this game is about the multiplayer while Orcs Must Die is more of the single player experience. Total Biscuit posted a good 1.5 hours of multi-player with the devs and it plays rather hectic.
The classes compliment each other well btw and the total limit on towers (you hit it at 80 last stage) makes for some interesting choices.

@vivisdarksidevids Orcs Must Die actually has better gameplay if you're doing single player. Only get Dungeon Defenders if you want to do Co-Op with some friends.

When you couldn't build anything before the last wave, it wasn't because you didn't have enough mana, it was because your "defense units" were maxed out, in the top right. It seems like each tower uses a certain number, so maybe that's why it's sometimes better to upgrade what you have already.
