In the vulcanic Lake Bogoria (Northern Kenya) the warm waters allow fast breeding of water shrimps and attract huge flocks of birds, mainly pelicans and flamingoes: numerous geysers give to landscape a dreamy hazy look

  • One of my favourite places. Love the shots with the steam from the Maji Moto and the flamingos / ostrichs. No Fish Eagles?

  • I saw no fish eagles in Lake Bogoria (but many in other places): thanks for the comment, you sound like an expert!

  • Fish Eagles are seen at lake Baringo which is not far away. Just breath in that sulpur smelling steam does your lungs good!? (or maybe it shortens your life in which case I must get off on another trip back to Kenya)!

  • beautiful!!

  • Fish eagles are sometimes seen over on the west side of the lake near the geysers. They will take young flamingos. I guess you did not film at the south end of the lake; Fig Tree Camp. The flamingos gather near the fresh water stream and preen there. Also there are baboons and kudu aplenty. Perhaps, infrequently, a leopard.
