On the morning of October 16th, Benedict XVI received Prince Albert II of Monaco. Immediately afterwards, the prince met with Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, the Vatican Secretary of State, along with Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, Secretary for Relations with States. During their discussion, after having touched upon various questions about the current international state of affairs, such as the integral development of the nations and the protection of natural resources and the environment, they lingered over certain issues of common interest, such as the importance of a solid cultural and moral formation of the youth and the defense of life in all its stages.
