It has been nearly a year that Chazbo (AKA Charlie) came to live with me. I bought him on August 20th 2009 and on September 5th he moved up from Ayr. I will be honest, it wasn't an easy year. He is a very intelligent cheeky chap and I my 1st horse so my lack of experience didnt help. When I bought him I had tears of happyness & nerves and I was shaking like a leaf. I have had that a few time since
:-) I am not afraid to show our struggles in this video. The beauty of it is that we are learning, bonding and making improvements all the time. Not in spectacular and major leaps but in small but very important steps. Maybe that is the most important lesson I have learned this year. To be understanding of the horses nature and instincts, to be patient and be happy with the small steps. And once reach the point where you can see a problem not as a massive DRAMA but as a puzzle or a challenge to be solved, both the lives of you and your horse will improve. I am inspired by Pat and Linda Parelli and Monty Roberts and am lucky to have a teacher like Shirleyann. And lucky with my fellow Horse management students and friends who put up with me. Lucky for Jane who keeps my boy healthy while I am learning how to do this. Charlie and I are not perfection but we are becoming a team and I love him deeply. First year over, many to follow. Up, up up and away we go...... Cheers to Chazbo and I
I really enjoyed watching this because it reminds me of my first 12 months with MY Charlie. I'm about 18 months ahead of you: it not only gets better it also gets easier! Your Charlie is very lucky to have you and you're both lucky to live in such a beautiful place.
