    Do these run as a diesel or are they hotbulb semi-diesels?

  • Nope they have a magneto and the later ones such as this have spark plugs. Here we are burning a mixture of Gasoline, Diesel and Water.... Although at a light load it doesn't draw much water.

  • The water jet is in the carburetor to keep the diesel and/or kerosene from detonating because of their low octane rating.

    I presume the water is sprayed into the cylider to help keep it cool?
