Muppetfan33 is right. It can't be Steve Whitmire because he didn't join Sesame Street until Season 25 (1993-1994), taking over Ernie, but he is still a great performer, one of my performers.

I love to watch these videos from when I was a kid, and understand the references.

It was also on the album "Put Down the Duckie," which I too once had. In the audio album, we hear more from the dog than we do in the music video. It kinda reminds you of Elvis singing "Hound Dog" to a hound dog. :)
